Ginger SOFRECO is recruiting a NRW Water Specialist to join our Technical Assistance Team for the Jordan Water Sector Efficiency Project (JWSEP), financed by the World Bank, AFD, and GCFF, and implemented by the Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ).
Our consortium has been awarded the contract, and the project will start shortly.
About the Project
Jordan faces extreme water scarcity, increasing demand, and climate-related pressures. The JWSEP aims to improve water service efficiency nationwide through:
• Sustainable Non-Revenue Water (NRW) reduction
• Improved energy efficiency
• Strengthened drought management systems
• Enhanced project management and institutional capacity
The Technical Assistance team will support WAJ, MWI, JVA, and the Water Companies across planning, procurement, monitoring, E&S compliance, and capacity building.
Key Responsibilities
Support planning and implementation of NRW reduction activities
• Review tender documents, designs, specifications, and BoQs
• Ensure NRW strategies (DMA formation, metering, pressure management) are embedded in all tender packages
• Assist with hydraulic modelling input and verification
• Support Water Companies and WAJ in supervision and performance monitoring
• Contribute to quarterly and semi-annual project reporting
• Coordinate closely with the Team Leader, NRW Directorate, and PIUs

Qualification
Qualifications Required
Mandatory requirements according to project TORs:
• B.Sc. in civil, water resources, environmental engineering, or equivalent
• More than 12 years of experience in water supply or infrastructure projects
• At least 5 years’ experience in impelmentation of actvities in NRW reduction, DMA formation, and hydraulic modelling
• Experience supervising contractors and consultants
• Proficiency in English
• Proficiency in Arabic
Experience working with WAJ or the Water Companies is an asset.
