As part of the project “Technical Assistance to Support the Improvement of the Business Environment and the Energy Transition in Ecuador,” we are seeking an energy transition expert with extensive experience in the non-conventional renewable energy sector in South America. The expert’s role will be to advise public and private stakeholders, as well as the European Union Delegation in Ecuador and members of the “Europa” team, on key aspects of the energy transition aimed at increasing the share of
non-conventional renewable energy in Ecuador.
Project duration: 55 months
Expert’s mobilization period: minimum 700 days

Qualification

Qualifications and Skills (Minimum Requirements)
- University degree (4 years or more of study) in electrical engineering or advanced civil engineering, or
equivalent.
- C1 level (CEFR) or equivalent in Spanish (or native speaker).

Qualifications and Skills (Desirable Requirements)
- B2 level (CEFR) or higher in English. General Professional Experience (Minimum Requirements)
- More than 10 years of experience in the renewable energy sector in South America in Central America and/or Mexico, in the design and operation of energy systems (generation, transmission, and/or distribution) integrated into interconnected national grids.

Specific Professional Experience (Minimum Requirements)
- More than 4 years of experience in the design and/or maintenance of medium- and high-voltage power grids in South American, Central American, and/or Mexican countries.
- More than 4 years of experience in the design and/or maintenance of power generation units using renewable sources connected to national grids in countries in South America, Central America, and/or Mexico.

Specific Professional Experience (Desirable Requirements)
- 3 years of experience in the area of authorizations and connection permits in countries of the Andean region (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and/or Peru).
