Consulting services to undertake a vulnerability assessment of the health sector; pilot programme for climate resilience

Jamaica, a small developing island nation, is highly vulnerable to climate change and climate-related natural disasters. Changes linked to climate change have direct consequences on human health, contributing to an increase in vector-borne diseases, as well as on health infrastructure.
In addition to mitigation efforts, Jamaica has embarked on a climate change adaptation programme to strengthen its resilience. With a view to improving the resilience of health infrastructure, the project aimed to conduct a detailed assessment of the vulnerability of the health sector (based on a sample of 15 facilities) and to prepare an investment plan to strengthen the resilience of the country's health facilities to climate change.
