Ginger SOFRECO, in partnership with RTE International, is supporting the Senegalese government in a major project to modernise the electricity transmission network in Dakar. This strategic project for Senegal involves the construction of 31 km of 225 kV underground links and 16 km of 225 kV submarine links, as well as the construction or upgrading of six high-voltage substations. Responsible for the entire engineering chain – detailed design of the structures, preparation of technical specifications for tender documents, assistance with contractor selection and comprehensive supervision of the works – the Consortium is also in charge of defining and monitoring environmental and social aspects throughout the project (ESIA, Environmental and Social Management Plans, Stakeholder Engagement Plan, Resettlement Action Plans). It has also been entrusted with the implementation of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP). This project, which will help secure the electricity supply in Dakar, will support the economic development of the region.
