Technical assistance to MADRP and the institutions under its authority, and training services to administration officials and fishery and aquaculture professionals to develop a Food Safety Control System (FSCS) for Fishery and Aquaculture Products (FAP)
- Harmonisation of the regulatory framework for food hygiene and quality with European legislation (Codex alimentarius for FAP)
- Support for the development of control and oversight plans for FAP environments
- Support for the organisation of the inspection and control system and capacity building of administration staff
- Capacity building of the control and analysis laboratories in charge of the control of aquatic environments and the health and hygiene quality of fishery products
- Capacity building of the private sector and of professional organisations to improve the use of good control and hygiene practices at each link of the fishery/aquaculture value chain.
