Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response Project. Feasibility study for the expansion of two centres of excellence ( 2022 - 2023 )
The overall objective of this study is to determine the feasibility of a project to expand the Centres of Excellence (COE) in order to increase their capacity and further improve the quality of holistic services offered to survivors and other vulnerable women at the Panzi Hospital in Bukavu and the Heal Africa Hospital in Goma.
- The existing infrastructure and equipment is being assessed, needs are being determined and the quality of service is being evaluated.
- The functionality and daily management of the said CDEs is determined and the relevance of the expansion/renovation with regard to the demand for services, particularly for referral capacity and geographical coverage;
- The short- and medium-term benefits of the cost of the expansion on health is determined and the potential short- and long-term effects of the expansion of the two CDEs on health system strengthening in the two provinces of North Kivu and South Kivu, are noted;
- The effectiveness and efficiency of the expansion in relation to the health system as a whole are being assessed; the institutional and organisational diagnostic is being carried out and the capacity strengthening plan is being drawn up.
