Job description
As part of the project “Technical Assistance to Support the Improvement of the Business Environment and the Energy Transition in Ecuador”, we are seeking an expert in corporate finance who specializes in energy infrastructure financing. The role involves transforming renewable energy projects into financeable projects that are attractive to investors by leveraging tools such as project finance, public-private partnerships (PPPs), guarantees, blended finance, and relationships with development banks and private investors. The expert will contribute directly to the project’s central objective: attracting more European investment into Ecuador’s energy transition.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills (Minimum Requirements)
- University degree (more than 4 years of study) in economics, finance, and business management or
equivalent.
- C1 level (CEFR) or equivalent in Spanish (or native language).
Qualifications and Skills (Desirable Requirements)
- B2 level (CEFR) or higher in English.
General Professional Experience (minimum requirements)
- More than 10 years of experience in the design and/or implementation of financial structures
(project finance, corporate finance, etc.) for investment projects in major energy infrastructure (energy production and/or transmission/distribution) in countries in South America, Central America, and/or Mexico.
Specific Professional Experience (minimum requirements)
- More than 4 years of experience in public-private partnerships (PPPs) related to major energy infrastructure projects in South America, Central America, and/or Mexico.
Specific Professional Experience (Desirable Criteria)
- Experience with regional integration processes in the Andean region (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and/or Peru) in areas related to electricity.
