Job description
The project, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), aims to enhance climate-resilient livelihoods and strengthen value chains in the highland regions of Laos. It focuses on improving agricultural productivity, sustainability, and market access for smallholder farmers while integrating climate adaptation measures. Through technical assistance, feasibility studies, capacity building, and the design of climate-smart agricultural models, the project seeks to boost rural incomes, improve infrastructure, and strengthen institutional capacities for long-term sustainable development in vulnerable upland communities.
Project duration : 6 years
Qualifications
The specialist will have
(i) at least a master’s degree in livestock or veterinary science or a related field;
(ii) at least 8 years of experience in implementing projects related to rural development, livestock health and production, agribusiness, institutional and agriculture policy reform;
(iii) a good level of professional proficiency in ;English;
(iv) skillful and effective in formal Lao spoken and written language.
(v) S/he will ;have to have a good knowledge of Lao PDR policies, institutions, and institutional/legal environment.
(vi) Previous project management and leadership experience is required.
