Summative evaluation of the project to improve access to school and the quality of learning for vulnerable children in the provinces of Equateur, Haut-Katanga, Tanganyika and Lualaba in DRC ( 2020 - 2021 )
In 2015 a project to improve access to school and quality learning for vulnerable children was implemented in the DRC, corresponding to the fourth component of a large Government Programme called "ACCELERE" (Access, Reading, Retention and Accountability). Through this component, UNICEF engaged in a programme in Katanga and Equateur to improve school participation and learning by focusing on key issues of timely entry and vulnerability for 310,500 children. Through a descriptive and analytical evaluation of the implementation of the ACCELERE Component 4 project, the aim of this mandate was to inform the development by Primary, Secondary and Technical Education and partners including non-governmental organisations of new strategies to facilitate the enrolment of the most vulnerable children in school, in order to promote evidence-based quality education.
