Ginger SOFRECO supported the Central African Power Pool (CAPP) in implementing a regional energy policy.

The Ginger SOFRECO team provided support for structuring cross-border interconnection and electrification projects, strengthening the institutional, regulatory and technical framework, creating specialised regional bodies including the regional regulator, and developing a shared energy information system. The ultimate goal was to promote energy integration between Member States and lay the foundations for a genuine regional electricity market.

The mission also aimed to ensure the financial sustainability of the CAPP by supporting the creation of a series of national levy mechanisms and a fund dedicated to the development of the regional electricity sector.
