The overall objective is to help ensure a better alignment between the basic training of senior health staff and the skills needs of the health system:
- Diagnosis of the gaps between the training proposed by health science faculties and the Ministry’s needs;
- Analysis of the relevance of internship as a method for training and coaching senior management;
- Description of investment requirements (human resources, materials and new curricula);
- Formulation of recommendations to improve the initial training of senior health managers.

Analysis of the current organisation of the healthcare system, the number of healthcare institutions, their equipment and staffing, business processes, team structures and cooperation. Analysis of all measures envisaged in the national strategies related to health policy. Based on the detailed documentary analysis performed, preparation of an action plan with the measures and suggestions needed for the provision of a more effective and efficient healthcare system. Organisation of a consultative meeting with all stakeholders on the action plan and the implementation road map.

Jamaica, a small island developing state, is particularly vulnerable to climate change and climate-related disasters. The changes will have significant implications for human health, contributing to vector borne diseases and generally affecting the health of its population. Jamaica has therefore embarked on a programme to adapt to climate change and build its disaster risk resilience. In order to help improve the resilience of health facilities, the project is aimed at facilitating a detailed vulnerability assessment of the health sector and preparing a costed resilience strengthening plan to climate-proof the nation’s health facilities.

The Government of Saint Lucia (GOSL) has obtained financing from the World Bank (WB) under the health system strengthening project aimed at supporting the GOSL’s initiative to improve the accessibility, efficiency, and responsiveness of health services. The health system strengthening project is geared towards strengthening the health sector both on the demand and the supply sides.
The objective of this assignment is to provide technical assistance to develop and institutionalise National Health Accounts, with the aim of understanding the magnitude and pattern of health spending in the economy and the nature and flow of funds within the health care system.

The AFD is seeking the support of consultants to carry out a feasibility study and definition of a project to support the structuring of a network of provincial reference laboratories in DR Congo. This structuring should take the "One Health" approach into account, which integrates different sectors and disciplines of human, animal, plant and environmental health in the management of emerging epidemics. Laboratories play a key role in this management.

The main objective of the project was to support the Mauritanian Ministry of Health in strengthening the national health system by carrying out a study on the pricing of procedures and implementation and monitoring tools, in order to have a harmonised pricing system for all procedures offered in public and private structures, with a view to setting up universal health coverage.

The Programme to Support the Regionalisation, Deconcentration and Strengthening of Primary Health Care (REDRESS-P) aims to promote primary health care, and especially family medicine, by increasing the importance and role of family doctors as a major element of the referral system.
In this context, our support to the Ministry of Health will foster the development of genuine family medicine via three areas of intervention aiming to prepare: (i) the establishment of adapted clinical pathways, (ii) computerised management tools, and (iii) adequate training for doctors.     

The objective of the project is to carry out a mid-term evaluation of the 2017-2021 Health Sector Development Plan (HSDP) and to draft recommendations in order to positively reorient the implementation of the HSDP during the 2020-2021 period and to provide input for the design of the future HSDP.
The team evaluated the results of the implementation of 3 programmes and 28 sub-programmes interlinked to the 6 strategic components of the health system strengthening under the leadership of the Ministry of Public Health, and the strategic coordination and supervision of the Secretary General for the continuation of the sector-wide approach initiated several years ago.
