Technical assistance in support of public finance governance in the Republic of Congo ( 2010 - 2015 )
This project is part of the Governmental Action Plan for Public Finance Management, which covers the complete budget cycle: authorisation, application and control of the implementation of finance laws. It aims to improve the general Congolese public finance management system in a sustainable fashion, through three components. The objective of the first two components is to strengthen the entire expenditure chain and the quality of the information system, by tackling control and accounting respectively. The third component concerns revenue and deals with customs issues.

The overall objective of the programme is to contribute to good governance, poverty reduction and the enhancement of sustainable livelihoods. The purpose of this project is to empower NSAs (non-state actors) in the Gambia and to strengthen their capacities to enable them to play a more active and effective role in public life and in the country’s development process.
The Consultant’s specific objective in implementing the contract is to establish and operate a Programme Management Unit (PMU) that will coordinate and implement the programme activities designed to enhance the roles and capacities of NSAs in the Gambia.
