Energy Saving Initiative in the Building Sector (ESIB) ( 2010 - 2015 )
This project aims to help the INOGATE Partner Countries reduce their dependency on fossil fuels, improve the security of their energy supply, and allow them to contribute more actively to climate change mitigation.
Specifically, the ESIB project is to assist the INOGATE Partner Countries in ensuring improved control of their energy consumption in the building sector by promoting and developing Energy Efficiency (EE) as well as the use of Renewable Energy (RE) where applicable, in this particular area.

Institutional, Technical, Financial and Legal Advisory Services for IPP Hydropower Concession Management ( 2012 - 2014 )
In order to improve the handling of public-private-partnership for hydropower projects in Laos, the Consultant has been hired to cover the following functions:
- An institutional development input focusing on the establishment of systems and manpower requirements in the DEB;
- A technical advisory input focusing on monitoring implementation and other related technical issues of Concession Agreements;
- A financial advisory input focusing on financial modelling and monitoring;
- A legal advisory input focusing on the contractual aspects of Concession Agreements.

Within the framework of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership, a number of priority infrastructure projects have been identified, including the development of hydropower in Africa, particularly from the Inga basin in the DRC.
The project aims to support the African Union Commission (AUC) in policy matters within the framework of the 2020 Hydropower Initiative, through institution- and policy-related assistance to the AUC, and the preparation and promotion of the development of the Inga III and Grand Inga projects.

Worldwide - EU Technical Assistance Facility for the Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) initiative - Neighbourhood (East and South), Asia (including Central Asia), Latin America, the Caribbean and the Pacific ( 2014 - 2021 )
The TAF delivers high level technical assistance at country (and regional level) through expert missions to be mobilised at short notice and to support committed countries to reach the SE4All objectives. Examples of areas of support include:
- initial stocktaking, technical support in the elaboration and implementation of national energy sector policies and reforms;
- capacity building, particularly in the policy and regulatory areas;
- technical support in the preparation of investment projects,
- mobilisation of funds and facilitation of partnerships;
- industrial and technology cooperation;
- project demonstration.
Considering the specific needs and actual situation of the energy sector in the target countries, the assistance to the technical, economic and environmental preparatory work of energy investment projects, and in particular the identification and preparation of investment projects including the mobilisation of funds, facilitation of partnerships and leveraging of private investment, is central to the TAF.
Support and consultancy services to the Organisation for the Development of the Gambia River for the implementation of the Energy Project ( 2014 - 2018 )
The Organisation for the Development of the Gambia River (OMVG) includes Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Senegal. It is in charge of setting up the Energy Project which is based on the following three structures:
- The Sambangalou storage dam, located in Senegal on the Gambia River (128 MW);
- The Kaleta run-of-the-river dam located in Guinea on the Konkouré River (240 MW);
- The related interconnected network to conduct the electricity from both hydropower plants and from the other hydropower projects under development (225kV, 800 MW transit capacity, 1677 km of lines).
The project consists in supporting the OMVG in its Energy Project on the technical, legal and transaction components, and in carrying out a restructuring study for the OMVG.

Technical assistance to support the implementation of the Egyptian energy sector policy support reform ( 2013 - 2017 )
This project will pursue the work undertaken under previous cooperation projects for energy infrastructure, and aims to provide an adequate answer to Egypt’s energy sector needs. A major axis is to support the market reforms launched by the government.
During its course, the project will address gas sector and energy efficiency issues, especially concerning the legal and regulatory framework for the gas sector, energy efficiency, renewable energies, gas pricing policy and developing the capacity of the institutional players in charge of energy sector regulation and development.
