Improved Governance and Accountability in the Education Sector in the Democratic Republic of the Congo ( 2015 - 2020 )
The overall objective of this project is to improve governance and responsibility in the education sector in DR Congo. The expected result is a better quality public education service. The project aims to provide support to the DR Congo Government in its efforts to improve governance and accountability in the education sector. It is expected that this activity - activity 2 of the joint DFID/USAID education programme - will help to achieve said programme’s objective of ‘Improving the educational results of girls and boys in selected educational provinces of DR Congo’.
Technical assistance for the project to strengthen the administration and supervision of education in the Comoros ( 2014 - 2018 )
This contract is part of a project whose overall objective is to help reduce poverty in the Union of the Comoros by improving the quality of its educational system.
The specific objective is to boost the quality of education by strengthening administration, management and the information and communication infrastructure, and offer a better learning environment and higher-quality training to system managers.
We are providing technical assistance to support the Project Management Unit in managing the project and carrying out all of its technical activities, based on three key components:
Component 1: Communication and information system;
Component 2: Institutional capacities for the administration and management of education;
Component 3: Learning environment and higher-quality training for the system’s managerial staff.
Support to legal translators, interpreters and linguists ( 2010 - 2012 )
Support to the University of Pristina (UP) to set up, strengthen and increase the sustainability and proficiency of initial and in-service training structures for translators and interpreters in a lifelong learning perspective.
The technical assistance will provide the following services:
- Institutional strengthening
- Curriculum development
- Training of trainers of professional translators and interpreters and training of teachers in interpretation and translation
- Study visits for trainers of interpreters and translators
- Creation of accreditation procedures

Project to support the extension and consolidation of the obstetrical package ( 2015 - 2017 )
This assignment focused on building the Ministry of Health's management and steering capacities for the 'obstetrical package' project, and on transferring skills to the various actors in the package system, particularly the concerned services of the Ministry of Health including the PNSR (National Reproductive Health Programme), the Regional Health Action Departments (DRAS), the 'package' managers, and the members of the package management committees.
The assignment included two components: (i) assistance to the contracting authority, and (ii) implementation of two studies.
Technical Assistance for the Management and Implementation of the Community Health Workforce Programme ( 2017 - 2018 )
The overall goal of the Community Health Workers Programme was to provide equitable access to health care services to the population of Liberia by strengthening community health interventions through a national standardised community package of health services provided by trained, deployed and motivated community health workers. Phase one was formative in nature and had quantitative population level objectives for outcomes. It shaped and supported full implementation during the next phase of the project.

Support to national authorities in the planning, implementation, management and monitoring of a EUR 17 million educational reform project, and transfer of knowledge and skills in view of improving the quality of the education provided, strengthening the management and guidance of support staff, and increasing the accessibility and fairness of the basic education and preschool system.
Improvement of preschool education in Serbia ( 2011 - 2014 )
The IMPRES project aims at improving preschool education provision and broadening access for children, especially from disadvantaged groups. The project will support improvements in the quality of preschool curricula and expansion of the capacities of preschool institutions. The assignment includes the preparation and implementation of training programmes, advice on the improvement of preschool legislation, preschool teaching methods and the provision of preschool activities, as well as the organisation of conferences, workshops and study tours. Mobilisation of two long-term experts and multiple short-term experts.
