This TA assignment is to assist the Planning and Statistics Unit of the Rural Development Sector and other actors involved in strengthening the agricultural statistics system by:
- Strengthening the organisation and coordination of Mali's agricultural statistics system;
- Strengthening of planning, programming and budgeting in the rural development sector;
- Strengthening of the monitoring and evaluation of public policies and of projects and programmes in the rural development sector;
- Strengthening of the production and timely dissemination of quality data to inform decision-making processing.

Institutional technical assistance for the implementation of PASANAD, whose objective was to help reduce poverty by improving governance in the field of nutrition and food security and strengthening resilience.
The programme was based on a sectorial reform contract (EUR 100 million) and on complementary institutional support for the prevention of chronic malnutrition (EUR 17 million). The services included long-term technical assistance to the Permanent Secretariat for the Coordination of Agricultural Sectorial Policies, the Executive Secretariat of the National Food Security Council, the Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources (MRAH), and the Ministry of Agriculture and Hydraulic Facilities (MAAH), and short-term technical assistance in the fields of monitoring and evaluation, institutional support, forecasting and planning, decentralisation, training, market analysis, nutrition and food security, irrigated agriculture and small-scale livestock farming.

Technical assistance to the Ministry of Livestock and Animal Production (MEPA) for the implementation of the PASTOR programme, which aimed to promote the concerted and sustainable use of Chad's pastoral resources, by creating jobs for young pastoralists, agro-pastoralists and farmers, and by strengthening their resilience.
PASTOR took place in the central (Lake Fitri and Guéra), eastern (Ennedi, Wadi Fira, Ouaddaï, Sila and Salamat) and southern regions (Mandoul and Moyen Chari) of Chad.
The regional activities were implemented by four consortia of NGOs that are beneficiaries of EU grant contracts, totalling €12.4m.

The goal of the ‘National Information Platform for Nutrition’ initiative is to produce nutrition-related information, then to generate requests for information in order to stimulate public debate, and to reformulate analysis plans for decision-makers, stakeholders, or partners concerned by the field of nutrition. The technical assistance provides its support in order to:
- ensure methodological rigour in the data production and analysis process;
- develop a training plan for the main stakeholders (nutrition-sensitive, decision analysis, method for analysing the results of nutritional surveys, design and management of on-line databases, etc.);
- set up tools for storing and sharing statistical data and information on the nutritional situation (platform);
- make information on the nutritional situation accessible to all sections of the public, and particularly useable by the public authorities for decision-making and strategic purposes.

Support for the development of a comprehensive approach to a multi-hazard early warning system (EWS) including environmental as well as epidemic risks. Support to pilot an appropriate pandemic surveillance system as part of the early warning system for pandemic response in Mongolia in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Preparation of an EWS design that is suitable for Asian Development Bank financing by identifying the most appropriate project components and providing innovative ideas, concepts, management approaches and technology including pilot testing to enhance project impacts.

The overall objective of the Project is to sustainably improve the nutritional status of children under five (U5) and of Pregnant and Lactating Women (PLW) in Sindh in line with the second target indicator of the SDG Goal No2. The specific objective of the contract is to build-up the capacity of the Government of Sindh (GoS) and other stakeholders regarding nutrition-related policy/strategy development, coordination, implementation, adaptive research, data collection/analysis and communication.

The aim of the project is to conduct a feasibility study into the deployment of Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) to benefit artisanal fishermen along the Zambezi coast, in line with Mozambican regulations and MCC environmental guidelines.
The feasibility study consists of a programmatic environmental and social impact assessment, and an assessment of the economic impact of introducing this activity in the area. If feasibility is proven, a pilot project to deploy 10 FADs should be proposed over the period 2025-2030.
