The skills and employability development project (PRODECE) - Technical evaluation of Component 1 of the PRODECE entitled ‘Quality improvement and upgrading of existing TVET institutions’ ( 2020 - 2022 )
The objectives of Component 1 of the PROCEDE are to support the construction of two (2) new sectoral centres specialising in ICTs and the construction/wood sector, and to rehabilitate four (4) existing TVET institutions (2 vocational training centres and 2 technical high schools), in an effort to promote quality technical and vocational education driven by demand and to develop potential within growth and job-creating sectors.

The Charaka Fund managed by the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) aims to set up a supply of vocational training driven by private sector demand. This fund has been granted to several professional training centres. SOFRECO currently manages two contracts in relation to the Charaka Fund: batch 2 in Casablanca and batch 5 in Tangier. The objective is to support professional training centres in their upgrading according to the Competence Based Approach (CBA). Within the framework of batch 2, SOFRECO is supporting the Higher Institute of Building of Casablanca, in order to update and create new courses in the area of construction and public works. For this project, SOFRECO works in collaboration with construction and public works players such as the National Federation for Building and Public Works (FNBTP) and those involved in Professional training such as the Office for Professional Training and the Promotion of Labour (OFPPT).
Supporting the School Sector Development Plan (SSDP) - External Monitoring, Review and Evaluation Team ( 2019 - 2022 )
The main objective of the assignment is to support the SSDP programme’s secretariat and development partners by undertaking a mid-term review (2019), annual fiduciary reviews (2019-2021), and final evaluation (2021) of the SSDP. Other ad hoc reviews of programmatic elements as and when required.

The objective of the BAB-AL-AMAL project is to reduce the vulnerability of Chad’s youth and develop economic opportunities in several regions of the country (Sarh, Abeché, Ndjamena, Moundou) by developing dual apprenticeship training. The development of this training will involve the capacity building of professional organisations and of their actors, the upgrading of training centres, and support to FONAP in the capital and in the regional branches.
Reinforcement Programme of Commercial Capacity for the Tourism Sector ( 2018 - 2022 )
The general objective of this assignment is to help the PMU to strengthen the commercial capacity of the tourism sector in Cambodia by building the capacity of private and public stakeholders, structuring public-private partnerships, and developing innovative commercial strategies.
Strengthening the capacities of the Ministry of Tourism, private tourism operators and professional associations is thus at the core of this assignment, which is structured in four components:
Component 1: Assisting the PMU in structuring and strengthening the capacity of the private sector;
Component 2: Assisting the PMU in strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Tourism;
Component 3: Assisting the PMU in developing studies and pilot projects;
Component 4: Strengthening the PMU in terms of project management.

The overall objective of this technical assistance is to assist and support the Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment and its structures with the challenges involved in reorganising and strengthening the national and regional bodies in charge of the implementation of the reform, and with the management and operational coordination of the PAFIP programme. This project for the creation of vocational training centres (CFMs) providing non-agricultural training in rural areas of Cameroon, is directly in line with the national priorities of the DSCE 2010-2020 (Strategy Document for Growth and Employment) in terms of strengthening the offer and quality of vocational training in the regions of Cameroon. The priority sectors for the training centres will be jobs supporting agricultural production (food processing and export, maintenance of agricultural machinery, etc.), building and civil engineering-transport, the energy sector, and information and communication technologies. These strategic areas must contribute to the employment strategy which is based on three main lines: increasing the offer of decent employment throughout the country in order to keep people, and especially young people, in the country, (ii) aligning the demand for employment through diversification of the training offer, and (iii) improving the efficiency of the market to create closer ties between businesses and job seekers.
