The purpose of this project was to strengthen the capacity of the Lake Victoria Fisheries Organisation (LVFO) to manage the Nile perch fishery on Lake Victoria in a sustainable and equitable manner by:
- Reviewing the Nile Perch Fishery Management Plan (NPFMP) 2009-2014 for Lake Victoria, and updating it in light of activities conducted and recent survey results;
- Validating the revised NPFMP through a Regional Stakeholders’ Validation Workshop (RSVW).

The SNI is a national investment financing tool which must adapt to the current context in order to contribute to Cameroon’s growth objectives and enable the country’s ‘second industrialisation’ as set out in the Strategic Growth and Employment Paper.
The restructuring process will involve a detailed as-is analysis of SNI’s situation and of its institutional, political, economic and financial environment. An overall diagnosis (SWOT analysis) will lead to the formulation of concrete and detailed strategies and proposals for reorganisation in statutory, organisational, legal and financial terms. An action plan for their implementation will also be proposed.

Technical assistance to support and strengthen artisanal fishermen groups in the province of Zambezia.
Promotion of saving-and-loan groups and community-based, small-scale fishers' organisations in growth poles in the province of Zambezia: Pebane, Nicoaldala, Namacura, Quelimane and Chinde.
The initial objective is to support 325 fishers’ communities, representing more than 6500 members and 32500 indirect beneficiaries in the 5 above-mentioned districts.

The Support and Study Office for ESLSE with Ethiopia's Ministry of Transport, asked SOFRECO to carry out the asset valuation, business valuation and due diligence of the state-owned “Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Services Enterprise” (ESLSE). This assignment was part of the Ethiopian government's strategy to open some sectors of activity up to foreign investment.
All the merchant vessels of ESLSE fleet (comprising 9 multi-purpose and 2 tank vessels) were inspected for valuation. Asset valuation was also performed for the rolling stock (including 440 trucks), the lifting and handling equipment, the Addis Ababa offices, the dry ports buildings and warehouses and for the ESLSE buildings in Djibouti.

Technical assistance to MADRP and the institutions under its authority, and training services to administration officials and fishery and aquaculture professionals to develop a Food Safety Control System (FSCS) for Fishery and Aquaculture Products (FAP)
- Harmonisation of the regulatory framework for food hygiene and quality with European legislation (Codex alimentarius for FAP)
- Support for the development of control and oversight plans for FAP environments
- Support for the organisation of the inspection and control system and capacity building of administration staff
- Capacity building of the control and analysis laboratories in charge of the control of aquatic environments and the health and hygiene quality of fishery products
- Capacity building of the private sector and of professional organisations to improve the use of good control and hygiene practices at each link of the fishery/aquaculture value chain.

Study for the design of a waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) management system in Mauritius to assist the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mauritius to set up an operational system in the short-term.
A strategic analysis was carried out to determine the optimal management model, which then led to a detailed feasibility study of the proposed system at technical, organisational, institutional and financial levels.
The extension of the study involved technical assistance to MCCI for the improvement of the legal system, the management contract for the operation of the system, and the establishment of a financial contribution for importers of equipment to finance the system through application of the extended producers’ responsibility principle.

The main objective of this project is to increase income for all stakeholders in the Cambodian rubber commodity chain. It aims: (1) to reorganize the commodity chain to achieve better commercial equity between the different stakeholders; (2) to secure additional currency earnings for the country in order to rectify an estimated loss of 8 million dollars per year due to discounting of Cambodian natural rubber on the international market; (3) to ensure higher employment in the sector on both smallholdings and estates.

AFD was approached by the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) to finance the relocation and expansion of Ibn Sina College for Health Science (ISC), specialised in nursing and midwifery education. AFD considered new funding to ISC to be granted in 2020, where it could finance the construction and equipment of the new building, technical assistance to develop new curricula, an e-learning programme for ISC’s students and other students or allied health personal working in the Gaza Strip, and the establishment of partnerships with other nursing schools in the region or elsewhere.
A series of studies (fixed phase) was carried out to gain the AFD’s technical and financial approval of the planned project (optional tranche) before presenting the project to its board for a loan grant. Conseil Santé, SOFRECO and their Palestinian partners (UG and JUZOOR) were in charge of the feasibility study of this project in view of the validation of the financing by the AFD board of directors.

The project has four main technical components: (i) Policy, reform and institutional development: improvement of land use security, pasture land management, and improvement of the legislative environment for the creation of private companies; (ii) Sustainable land and pasture management, (iii) Establishment of farm advisory services and of an agricultural market information system; and (iv) Rural infrastructure development, and capacity building of raions, jamoats and communities to plan, implement, and maintain the infrastructures.
