Final Evaluation of the Praia Health Project ( 2011 - 2011 )
The objective was to carry out an ex-post evaluation of the EC-funded Praia Health Project. This project aimed to improve access to the health system and the quality of health care by building or equipping five new health centres, thus helping to relieve the city’s main hospital which was mainly providing basic health care instead of hospital treatment.

This technical assistance programme is a specific support programme focusing on three components of Guinea's health system:
- Component 1 'Strengthening institutional support', whose activities will by implemented through programme estimates and particularly the central programme estimate;

Situation analysis of public health facilities in 25 health districts of Côte d’Ivoire ( 2016 - 2018 )
This project involved a situation analysis of 608 health facilities of 25 health districts of Côte d’Ivoire: regional hospitals, general hospitals and urban and rural first-contact health facilities.
The study included 4 phases:
- Launch of the project;
- Evaluation of the health facilities (situation analysis);
- Architectural and technical studies (preliminary design/detailed design);
- Tender documents (provisional and final).
This study falls within the framework of achieving the objectives of the National Health Development Plan, and is one of the preconditions for the implementation of the performance-based financing strategy.
Technical support for the implementation of the Mother and Child Health Support Programme (PASMI) ( 2014 - 2018 )
The purpose of the Mother and Child Health Support Programme (PASMI) is to help improve mother and child health in Benin. More specifically, it involves:
- improving the quality of caesareans and neonatal resuscitation at hospitals accredited by the ANGC (National Agency for Free-of-Charge Caesareans);
- enhancing the affordability of emergency obstetric and neonatal care;
- strengthening the offer of and demand for family planning services;
- improving the integration of population issues into sector strategies.
Hospital Policy and Health Micro-Insurance Feasibility Study ( 2006 - 2006 )
Design of a large scale health project integrating interventions related to the offer and demand of health care, through the promotion of health micro-insurance, as well as to the provision of institutional support to the MoH at central and provincial level. Definition of operational activities to improve the delivery of health care in one province (Takeo) and the capital (Phnom Penh) through a micro-insurance scheme. Design of the institutional support to the MoH in the areas of human resources, hospital policy, prevention of HIV/AIDS and maternal health. Definition of the operational modalities of the project's implementation, including financial and administrative issues and the responsibilities of the various actors.
Evaluation of international networks of hospital associations, in the process of being set up or to be set up in the future ( 2013 - 2013 )
The RESHAOC was created to develop hospital cooperation among countries of West Africa, the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean, with the overarching goal of ‘promoting communication and encouraging exchanges with a view to establishing a genuine technical and scientific partnership among the various hospital actors’. This network is supported by the French Development Agency (AFD).
The Fédération hospitalière de France is currently implementing the second phase of the project ‘Hospital Networks and Partners’, with the objective of (i) building partner hospitals’ capacities in terms of health care, management and practices; (ii) supporting the development of new hospital partnerships; and (iii) supporting the creation of North-South and South-South hospital networks and strengthening existing networks.
The purpose of this assignment is to evaluate the way in which the RESHAOC operates and the possibility of creating a new similar network for the Maghreb region.
Health services analysis for the relocation of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital ( 2013 - 2014 )
The Ministry of Health and the Environment of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) is conducting a review of its health care facilities and of their location, and of health service needs throughout the islands, in order to determine the site and characteristics of a new hospital to be built in replacement of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. The overall objective of the project is to ensure a service coverage adapted to the needs identified. This study will support the development of specific functional criteria for the new hospital, particularly with respect to improvements to the national emergency medical services (EMS) system.
