The banana value chain support programme is the result of two support mechanisms, the Special Framework of Technical and Financial Assistance and the Banana Accompanying Measures (BAM). The main objective of this technical assistance is to build the MINAGRI's capacities so that it can implement the BAM in order to enhance the competitiveness of Côte d'Ivoire's banana value chain on international markets and ensure the value chain's viability. This will create local added value while helping to improve the living conditions of the local population concerned.
Technical assistance for the rehabilitation of drainage and irrigation canals (preks) in the province of Kandal ( 2014 - 2019 )

Community Support Operator for the Irrigation Development Support Project (IDSP) ( 2012 - 2017 )
The objective of the IDSP is to increase yields per hectare and the value of diverse products marketed by smallholders benefiting from investments in irrigation in selected sites served by the project. These sites are located in Lusitu, Mwomboshi and Musakashi.
The project interventions will consist of a four-tier system which will be applied, in whole or in part, at each of the irrigation sites to be developed:
- Tier 1 is for smallholder farmers who wish to take up irrigated agriculture using mainly family labour.
- Tier 2 consists of larger plots of between one and five hectares, for cultivation by emerging small-scale commercial farmers or small groups of farmers, under sprinkler irrigation systems.
- Tier 3 consists of large plots of at least 60 ha under centre-pivot irrigation operated by a private company, or FarmCo.
- Tier 4 consists entirely of existing large-scale commercial farmers who will share the bulk water and other infrastructure provided under the project.

Technical Assistance to the Belize Rural Development Programme (BRDP II) ( 2011 - 2016 )
Technical and administrative support to the EDF National Authorising Officer (NAO) and the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) for the successful implementation of the Belize Rural Development Programme (BRDP II).
The BRDP II aims at increasing rural household incomes and food security by contributing to the rural market economy’s expansion. The programme has three main components:
1) Enterprise promotion and employment generation in rural areas,
2) Rehabilitation of economic rural infrastructure,
3) Institutional strengthening and support for the formulation of development policies.
The BRDP II is implemented mainly by grant call for proposals, infrastructure tenders and TA for institutional support and management.
Feasibility Study and Project Management Consultancy for the Construction of the Ibn Sina College of Nurses ( 2020 - 2021 )
AFD was approached by the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) to finance the relocation and expansion of Ibn Sina College for Health Science (ISC), specialised in nursing and midwifery education. AFD considered new funding to ISC to be granted in 2020, where it could finance the construction and equipment of the new building, technical assistance to develop new curricula, an e-learning programme for ISC’s students and other students or allied health personal working in the Gaza Strip, and the establishment of partnerships with other nursing schools in the region or elsewhere.
A series of studies (fixed phase) was carried out to gain the AFD’s technical and financial approval of the planned project (optional tranche) before presenting the project to its board for a loan grant. Conseil Santé, SOFRECO and their Palestinian partners (UG and JUZOOR) were in charge of the feasibility study of this project in view of the validation of the financing by the AFD board of directors.

The main objective of this project is to increase income for all stakeholders in the Cambodian rubber commodity chain. It aims: (1) to reorganize the commodity chain to achieve better commercial equity between the different stakeholders; (2) to secure additional currency earnings for the country in order to rectify an estimated loss of 8 million dollars per year due to discounting of Cambodian natural rubber on the international market; (3) to ensure higher employment in the sector on both smallholdings and estates.
