The overall objective of this Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) in the upper and middle Niger basin is to systematically analyse the institutional set-up and the environmental and social risks associated with all mining sector initiatives in the region (exploration, operation, engineering, development, economics, investment, revenue management, sector organisation, etc.). It is meant to enable the proposal of comprehensive measures to be taken, so as to improve the activities and the regulatory framework to ensure the sector's sustainability.

It is meant to enable the proposal of comprehensive measures to be taken, so as to improve the activities and the regulatory framework to ensure the sector's sustainability.

The objective of this mission is to provide a cartography of the water supply networks in the city of Enugu in Nigeria, based on an inventory of the existing water supply network and of its infrastructures by means of field investigations. After having defined a GIS suitable to the type of data and users, establishment of a mapping/cartography of the inventory in a GIS (on QGIS software), and provision of support to ESWC staff through training and periodic technical assistance to enable the efficient use of the GIS.

The general objective of the contract is to establish the specific modalities of the adjudication of the research and mining areas constituting State assets, via the:
- assessment of the geo-mineral and cadastral information generated and processed at the Ministry of Mines and Quarries and the Bureau of Mining and Geology of Burkina Faso (BUMIGEB);
- analysis of the legislation and regulations relating to public procurement and the Mining Code and its implementing decree for the management of mining and quarrying titles, in order to clarify the legal framework relating to the implementation of competitive bidding for the State's mining assets in the context of awards;
- design of the administrative procedures governing the adjudication of mineral exploration areas and mining sites with a description of the process, the stakeholders and their roles and all aspects related to the said process;
- drafting of the terms of reference for the Consultant's advisory support to the State services for the award of research areas and operating sites.

This assignment aims to develop agroforestry systems (AFS) for farmers. The idea is to support them in developing agronomic solutions linked with forestry production to make their crop cultivation more sustainable. The target is to reach 1500 ha to be planted by 1500 growers with different tree species (fruit trees, trees for charcoal production, etc.) to improve the sustainability of their cropping strategy. A voucher system will be put in place to help the farmers to finance the seedlings, prepare the soil, etc.

The objective of the Sustainable Forest Management Programme (Programme de Gestion Durable des Forêts, PGDF) is to create the conditions for sustainable management of the DRC's forests by: i) contributing to improved governance, ii) developing policy in a participatory and transparent manner, iii) contributing to the structuring of the artisanal timber sector, iv) promoting the emergence of forests managed sustainably by communities or territorial authorities, and v) guaranteeing the management of industrial forest concessions in accordance with national legislation. SOFRECO is supporting the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development in the implementation of the PGDF in Kinshasa and five provinces: Mai Ndombe, Equateur, Mongala, Tshopo, Ituri and Kisangani.
