Technical Assistance to the Guinean Environmental Assessment Agency ( 2024 - 2027 )
The Technical Assistance to the Guinean Environmental Assessment Agency is a mission aimed at strengthening the technical and administrative capacities of this agency as well as certain departments of the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development. Ultimately, it will help to consolidate the agency's institutional and organisational framework, train its staff in environmental and social assessment techniques, raise their awareness of the legal framework, provide them with new procedures, guides and tools, and strengthen the sector's regulations.
Technical assistance for the implementation of the One Limpopo One Health (OLOH) Project ( 2024 - 2027 )
The aim of the project is to contribute to the sustainable, climate-resilient socio-economic development of the communities around the Limpopo National Park, through an integrated approach combining ecosystem, animal and human health. As part of this mission, the technical assistance team is supporting the OLOH project and the Peace Foundation in all aspects of the project: participatory land planning, sustainable development of livestock farming, socio-economic development, natural resource management, project management, monitoring, evaluation and learning.
Study on the updating of the Forestry Code ( 2023 - 2025 )
The aim of the study is to revise the CAR's forestry code and its implementing texts in line with both the guidelines set out in the forestry policy approved in 2021 and the international commitments made by the CAR (national timber processing in line with the CEMAC decision, international Forest-Climate rules, FLEGT VPA agreements).
Legal and regulatory support to mining institutions ( 2022 - 2024 )
The Ministry of Natural Resources of Suriname has requested international expertise to assist them in the revision of several pieces of mining legislation, including:
- the Mining Code,
- the Minerals Agreement,
- the Establishment Act of the Mineral Institute.
Initial modifications and proposals were made by local law firms. The main objective of the project is to support these law firms in taking into account international best practice to be adapted to the local context in the review of these structuring legislative texts.
Technical Assistance to Sint Maarten for natural disaster response and preparedness ( 2022 - 2023 )
The goal is to strengthen the resilience of the population and support the Government of Sint Maarten, in particular the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), in its strategy to strengthen its institutional capacity to plan, monitor and coordinate the disaster risk response and preparedness and ensure reconstruction. Three activities are implemented: support to communities to manage the risk of natural disasters, support to the Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) and support to mass care distribution and evacuation.
Independent audit of the FLEGT timber legality assurance system in Congo ( 2022 - 2025 )
The project aims to ensure the compliance of the timber legality assurance system (TLAS) for timber produced in the Republic of Congo with the requirements of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement of the Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT VPA) in order to contribute to the strengthening and improvement of forest governance in favour of sustainable and more transparent management of natural resources in the Republic of Congo.
Technical Assistance to the Project Coordination Unit and Implementing Agencies for the Water and Sanitation Sectoral Project ( 2022 - 2027 )
The purpose of this technical assistance mission is to support the Project Coordination Unit (PCU) and the executing agencies linked to the Ministry of Water and Sanitation in the implementation of the Water and Sanitation Sectoral Project (Projet Sectorielle Eau-Assainissement, PSEA).
The PSEA aims to improve access to drinking water and sanitation services in villages and rural areas in the wilayas in the South-East of the country. The PSEA also aims to strengthen the institutions of the MHA and its various organisations and to support them in the context of sectoral policy reforms.

The overall objective of this Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) in the upper and middle Niger basin is to systematically analyse the institutional set-up and the environmental and social risks associated with all mining sector initiatives in the region (exploration, operation, engineering, development, economics, investment, revenue management, sector organisation, etc.). It is meant to enable the proposal of comprehensive measures to be taken, so as to improve the activities and the regulatory framework to ensure the sector's sustainability.
