The overall objective is to characterise and assess the impacts of gold mining activities on the Falémé environment in general, and in particular, the impact on the quality of water resources and the hydrological regimes of the river. Lastly, this study enables a proposal to be made for corrective measures and an action plan aimed at limiting the impacts of this activity.

With the Mineral Sector Support for Economic Diversification Project (MinDiver), the Nigerian government is willing to diversify its revenue sources and to increase its income from the mining sector, in particular from the artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) sub-sector which prevails in the country.
This contract consists in the setting up of an IT unit with a GIS, database and remote-sensing applications to promote data acquisition by Ministry staff, the identification of areas of high mining interest by applying a remote-sensing monitoring system and field data acquisition, their analysis and interpretation, and, finally, the elaboration of a strategy for ASM formalisation by building the capacity of the administration and operators.

The overall objective of the project is to support the development and implementation of the Nigerian Climate Change Response Programme (NCCRP) to guarantee the country’s economic growth and development strategies whilst meeting its conditional 45 % NDC (Nationally Determined Contribution) targets by 2030.
The specific objective is to contribute to the creation of Nigeria’s GHG emission profile with the aim of pinpointing mitigation actions reducing energy use and costs in favour of renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions. This will be mainly achieved through the creation of sectoral MRVs (e.g. for the energy and waste sectors) and a waste baseline.

Support for the development of a comprehensive approach to a multi-hazard early warning system (EWS) including environmental as well as epidemic risks. Support to pilot an appropriate pandemic surveillance system as part of the early warning system for pandemic response in Mongolia in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Preparation of an EWS design that is suitable for Asian Development Bank financing by identifying the most appropriate project components and providing innovative ideas, concepts, management approaches and technology including pilot testing to enhance project impacts.

This technical support falls within the framework of PRORESA – the Programme to Strengthen Food Security – to meet the challenges of chronic food and nutritional insecurity in Mali (2016-2021). The overall development objective which PRORESA is working towards is to reduce the food and nutritional insecurity of vulnerable populations in Mali.   
It aims to improve the management of annual interventions, accountability and capitalisation within the National Food Security System by setting up a reliable, effective monitoring and evaluation system at the level of the Food Security Commission that meets international standards and allows consensus among the various actors at national level.
