Cambodian Rubber International Certificate Issuance and Commercialization Support ( 2005 - 2009 )
The main objective of this project is to increase income for all stakeholders in the Cambodian rubber commodity chain. It aims: (1) to reorganize the commodity chain to achieve better commercial equity between the different stakeholders; (2) to secure additional currency earnings for the country in order to rectify an estimated loss of 8 million dollars per year due to discounting of Cambodian natural rubber on the international market; (3) to ensure higher employment in the sector on both smallholdings and estates.
Commercial viability study of a vehicle scrapyard ( 2021 - 2021 )
The Support Project for the Competitiveness of Logistics Services for Trade ($18 million) provides for the renewal of the road transport vehicle fleet in particular, enabling passenger and goods road transport companies to renew their fleets and become more competitive.
Under this component of the project aimed at setting up a system for treating and recycling vehicles that are too old and that will be taken off the road, the study aims to assess the technical and commercial feasibility of a vehicle scrapyard meeting environmental and social standards, integrating both the organisational and financial dimensions of the value chain (governance, economic model, etc.) and the technical and operational dimensions (site, process description and layouts, guide drawings of the facilities and infrastructures). It covers the vehicles that will be removed from the vehicle fleet as part of the renewal programme, as well as any other vehicles destined for scrapping according to criteria to be defined with the competent authorities.
Diversifying Eswatini's sugar industry through the development of an agri-business park ( 2021 - 2021 )
The objective of the study is to develop a conceptual proposal for an agribusiness park, to be situated close to the sugar mills for industries that use sugarcane related by-products as well as businesses involved in the supply of inputs and services to the sugar industry. This encompasses a proposed location, a detailed review of the relevant legislation, the incentives to put in place and the required infrastructures. The consultant is expected to prepare a detailed conceptual proposal with implementation timelines, clearly outlining actions to be taken by the sugar industry and those to be undertaken by Government.

Support to selected private and public calibration laboratories in Ethiopia for international accreditation as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017 ( 2020 - 2021 )
This project is a component of the National Quality Infrastructure Development Project and aims for the international certification of four selected private sector calibration laboratories as per the requirement of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 laboratory management system.
The calibration laboratories to be supported are the METEC Quality Management Centre (QMC), the WINNER mechanical workshop, the Metro Alliance Calibration and Verification Service and Tigray Science & Technology Bureau calibration laboratory.
These laboratories will be accredited for calibration on mass, temperature, electrical, pressure balance and volume, each according to its scope.

As part of the framework of the First South-West Indian Ocean region Fisheries Governance and economic development programme, SOFRECO is implementing this very important participative study with fishery communities and in close collaboration with Governments officials. It includes: (i) a socio-economic evaluation (ii) implementation of a Quick Participatory Diagnostic in each of the priority and non-priority areas in order to identify the persons impacted by fishing restrictions and to determinate income-generating activities suitable for each community, and the type of persons impacted with special focus on gender issues (iii) the development of priority projects with communities and elaboration of business plans and manuals for implementation (iv) recommendations for investment and development of partnerships with public and/or private investors, and (v) technical assistance and training during the project’s implementation.
