Technical assistance for training on integrated health attention for mothers and children ( 2016 - 2018 )
This cascade training project is part of the Health Sector Support Programme (PASS II).
Training of trainers and of health professionals, in collaboration with health technician training schools and continuous training centres.
The project covers the 5 provinces covered by the PASS II (Benguela, Bié, Huambo, Huila and Luanda).
Training on:
1) Integrated Management of Mothers and Newborns (IMMN) with a focus on emergency obstetrical and neonatal care;
2) Integrated child health attention with a focus on the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI), including control of the growth and development of children.
Research on complementary infant feeding practices, the mental health status of Afghan school students, the school screening programme for refractive error, and factors associated with a high incidence and frequent outbreaks of measles among children ( 2014 - 2015 )
The overall objective of the project is to support the MoPH in obtaining comprehensive data so that the responsible decision-makers can:
- Readjust and optimise policies and strategies for ongoing programmes, such as complementary feeding practices and EPI (Extended Programme on Immunisation) measles vaccination.
- Obtain national estimates of the mental health and eye disease burden for the student target group, and develop adequate policies and strategies for specific service delivery.
Conduct of four field surveys on: 1) complementary feeding practices; 2) the mental health status of school children in; 3) eye care prevalence in school children, 4) identifying causal and risk factors on measles.
The study results will be used by the MoPH for policy and strategy development.

Technical assistance to the Ministry of Health in conducting surveys enabling the follow-up of the out-of-pocket health expenses of the poorest households.
These annual surveys are conducted in three test regions (Tadla Azilal, Grand Casablanca and Meknès-Tafilalt) in order to follow-up the impact of the roll out of the Health Insurance Scheme for the poorest (RAMED) within the wider context of the implementation of the medical cover reform.
Technical Assistance for Reception Centres for Asylum Seekers and Refugees and Removal Centres for Illegal Migrants ( 2008 - 2009 )
The overall objective of the project was to promote the better implementation of Turkey asylum policies and to ensure better control over illegal migrations through the design of nine specialised centres. The team of experts was in charge of the totality of the architectural plans of seven reception centres for asylum seekers and refugees and of two removal centres for illegal migrants, as well as the tender documents for the construction of the centres.
