Consulting/assistance mission for the privatisation of 4 ginning factory groups of the CMDT (Malian company for the development of textiles): preparation of bidding documents, promotion campaign for the operation, launching of the procurement procedure, evaluation of offers, assistance in negotiations with the buyers until the effective transfer of the subsidiaries’ shares. Consultancy and assistance for the settlement of the CMDT’s liabilities and for the dissolution of the parent company.

The objective of the assistance, within the framework of the long-term partnership between BiH and the European Union, was to contribute to progress in the Stabilisation and Association process and foster institutional development and economic growth in BiH. More specifically, the project aimed at developing the government’s capacity to regulate competition and design, monitor and control a State Aid system, hence improving the functioning of the BiH single market in harmony with the EU, leading to greater trade and investment within BiH.

The objective of the mission was: (i) to develop and enhance the legal and institutional framework on non-tariff barriers to trade and enable the implementation of the country’s trade policy; (ii) to identify the economic impact of Kazakhstan’s involvement in regional trade organisations and the regional integration process (Single Economic Space, Customs Union, Free Trade Area, etc).

Support for the implementation of the Partnership and Co-operation Agreement (PCA) between the EU and Azerbaijan, Phase III. Technical assistance for the PCA’s implementation: building capacity within the administration to identify priority sectors for the implementation of the trade, economic and commercial provisions of the PCA; assisting with legislative and administrative reforms and with approximation with EU legislation in the PCA fields; and assisting with accession to the WTO.

The project was to assist the company Misr Spinning and Weaving (25,000 employees) in its transformation into a viable and financially secure enterprise, competitive in international markets and with growth and development prospects capable of attracting strategic or capital market investors.
The overall objective was to a) modernise the company by involving the private sector in its operation to meet the challenges of globalisation and b) introduce/reinforce international standards and best practices in governance, management and operation.

The overall objective of the EUR 20 million SRRP programme is to enhance the economic efficiency of Infrastructure in Jordan, in terms of costs, quality and range of services, thus allowing to improve access of the population to infrastructure services (telecom, electricity, civil aviation, transport), in terms of coverage and affordability.
The specific objectives of the SRRP programme are to:
- Develop effective mechanisms of regulation of infrastructure in line with best international practices
- Strengthen the capacity of the State to promote effective private participation in infrastructure in a consistent and transparent manner, and
- Increase competition in infrastructure services.

Technical assistance to the National Divestment Committee in the divestment of state-owned enterprises in the agro-business sector:
- Assist the NDC in reviewing the divestment plan for the 7 state-owned rubber estates (SOREs) that form the core of the Cambodian rubber sector and for  2 state-owned agri-business enterprises (AIC and KAMFINEX);
- Provide advice on specific issues, such as the marketing strategy to foster competition and mitigation measures to facilitate the hand-over process;
- Assist the NDC in developing resettlement policies and a monitoring framework to ensure transparent practices;
- Identify relevant training specialists in income restoration to train displaced/redundant personnel.
