Technical assistance to the MoH at central and peripheral levels of the health system: situation analysis, planning, budgeting, training. Support to the definition and implementation of the health information system, to the essential drug national policy and  to the decentralisation of the services. Support to the donors' coordination and overall coordination and monitoring of the European Union's health projects.

Support to and promotion of the Moroccan Ministry of Health’s (MoH) institutional and hospital reform project; contribution to strengthening health monitoring and safety; establishment of a national accreditation programme for MoH public health laboratories within the framework of the quality assurance national plan; and promotion of the development project for technical and scientific research within the health system.

The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) was established in 2003 to protect public health and consumer interests in the area of food safety and hygiene. It received support from the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration between 2005 and 2007 and later from the European Union in order to attain the EU best practices in the field of laboratory accreditation.
This specific technical assistance was designed to streamline the fragmented food control responsibilities between the JFDA and all other government ministries and institutions and to enhance the technical and managerial capacities of inspection laboratories in the Greater Amman Municipality.

Assessment of the status of the health care sector reforms and of the conditions for the successful development and implementation of a government health sector programme. Assistance to the EC in the preparation of its assistance under TACIS AP 2006 and follow-up activities within the new financial perspective of the European New Neighbourhood Instruments (ENNI) in support of the development and implementation of the government’s health sector programme.

Development of a detailed action plan for the decentralisation of radiotherapy and chemotherapy services within hospital health care:
(i) Detailed plans for the modernisation of hospital capacity
(ii) A comprehensive plan for staff training
(iii) Identification of opportunities for public-private partnership
(iv) Estimates of the costs for the infrastructure needed to modernise the hospitals in Balti and Cahul.

The objective of this assignment is to support the implementation of the new management strategy for the Mother Theresa University Hospital (QSUT) to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and accountability of the QSUT, and thus improve the utilisation efficiency and effectiveness of the different levels of the healthcare network as a continuum of services:
- Implementation of a continuous quality improvement system (CQIS) and support to revamp the referral system and restructure/reengineer the management process in both the administrative and clinical areas, to improve the results and quality of care of QSUT. This includes revamping the system to improve the efficiency of emergency referrals, and the clinical effectiveness of emergency services at QSUT;
- Design, development/adaptation and implementation of a new automated hospital management information system (HMIS).
